Check out a School Laptop!

Parents, welcome to another school year! Your student requires a laptop for their classes at Janitell. If you want your student to use a school laptop for the year, please fill out the device agreement. Once the agreement has been completed, your student can check out a laptop from the Janitell Library. If they don't check out a school laptop, they should have a personal laptop at school every day. Students should remember the following about their school laptops:

1) Mr. Flesher in the library is here to help you with any technology problems. If you have a problem with your laptop or can't figure out how to do something, ask Mr. Flesher.

2) Keep track of your charger. In fact, you should just leave it at home. The number one reason that chargers get lost is that students lend them to a friend but don't get them back. If you lose your charger, the replacement cost is $25.

3) Charge your laptop every night before you go to sleep.

4) Bring your laptop to Mr. Flesher if you have any problems with your keyboard. Keys can usually be replaced easily and for free. But if you damage the keyboard and/or lose parts of it, you might have to pay a $100 fee to replace the keyboard.

5) Be gentle with your laptop. The screen is the most fragile part of the laptop. If you press too hard on the screen, you can damage it. If you throw your backpack around with your laptop in it, you can damage the screen. Screens cost $100 to replace, so take good care of yours.

Once your student receives the laptop, they will complete the device receipt.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Mr. Flesher, our librarian: flesherj@wsd3.org, 719-391-3322.
