Janitell Track & Field Finishes the Season Strong

The Janitell Track & Field teams wrapped up an exciting season filled with hard work, personal growth, and impressive accomplishments. Coaches praised the athletes for their dedication, perseverance, and willingness to challenge themselves throughout the season.

Coach Riehl shared that track provides students with an opportunity to compete and showcase their athleticism, especially for those who may not traditionally participate in team sports. He emphasized the importance of students learning how to face challenges and adversity while pushing themselves to improve. This season brought major success, including city championships and record-breaking performances from several standout athletes.

Season Highlights

  • Matthew Alcantar placed 1st in the city in the 800 meter race.
  • The boys 4x400 relay team placed 1st in the city.
  • Natalia Shepard placed 2nd overall in the city in the girls 200 meter race.
  • The girls 4x200 relay team earned 5th place in the city.
  • Natalia Shepard also earned 6th place in the girls 100 meter race.
