Janitell Softball Celebrates a Strong Season

The Janitell Softball teams wrapped up a successful season filled with growth, teamwork, and determination. Coaches praised the athletes for developing their skills, supporting one another, and representing Janitell with pride.

Coach Cook shared that softball “builds physical strength and the mental resilience needed to handle high-pressure situations.” She also noted that the sport teaches “perseverance, team work, individual skill development,” while helping young athletes build “confidence and leadership abilities necessary for success both on the field and in their future.”

B Team Highlights

Coach Cook described the B Team season as “amazing.” The team finished with a record of 9 wins, 1 tie, and 1 loss across 11 games.

Coach Cook shared that the season “was so much fun” and that the girls “really grew as individuals and as a team.”

Standout B Team Athlete

Coach Cook highlighted Emerie Romero, calling her “a great 6th-grade pitcher” who stands out by showing “perseverance and hard work.”

Coach Cook praised Emerie for “staying focused on the mound even when the strike zone feels small or the game gets tough.” She also recognized Emerie for keeping “a positive attitude,” smiling and laughing to help keep “herself and her teammates relaxed and energized during high-pressure moments.”

Emerie was also recognized for prioritizing “skill-building and coachability” and for “constantly listening to feedback” as she continues to grow as a pitcher. As Coach Cook put it: “She rocks!!!!”

A Team Highlights

Coach Murphy shared that softball is a great sport because it requires “so many fundamental athletic traits,” including agility, “great hand/eye coordination,” strength, and determination.

He also explained that baseball and softball are “a sport of failure,” noting that “the best hitters of all time are only successful 3 out of 10 times.” Because of that, players must learn to “handle adversity every time they step up to the plate or play their position in the field.”

Coach Murphy said the team had “a very good year” and that all of the girls “improved from Day 1” while continuing to add skills that will help them advance in the sport.

Standout A Team Athletes

Coach Murphy highlighted Leah Trujillo, Aaliyah Gibson, and Madilyn Reyes as standout athletes.

He described them as “GREAT Student-Athletes,” “great representatives of Janitell,” and “really good ball players.” Coach Murphy also praised them for working hard at every practice and leading by example.

Congratulations to all Janitell Softball athletes and coaches on a fantastic season!
