Students at Janitell will soon have a new opportunity to explore their musical interests. In addition to the school's great music programs in Band, Choir, and Orchestra, the school’s librarian, Mr. Flesher, is starting an after school club during the 2023 - 2024 school year that will focus on music technology. Mr. Flesher will teach students who are interested in learning about the latest music technology, including Ableton Push 2 controllers, digital audio workstations, audio mixers, microphones, and other devices.

The Music Technology Club is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the world of music technology. Students will have the opportunity to learn about different types of music technology, to compose digital music, to make recordings of electric and non-electric instruments, to make vocal recordings, and to collaborate with other students in producing group performances.

To begin preparation for the Music Technology Club next year, Mr. Flesher purchased three Ableton Push 2 controllers last week and has begun introducing the technology to students in the library. Check out Haidn W.'s composition, The Silent Hollow, that he recorded today, April 17th, after only a little instruction.
