Widefield School District 3 recently released a video highlighting an innovative economic simulation at Janitell. The video shows how students learn real-world skills by running their own small corporations in Ms. Richards’ entrepreneurship class. Students design and 3D-print products, then sell them in the Jag Mart using cash or Jagbucks. Students from all over the school buy the 3d-prints. The video also explains how investors in eighth grade social studies classes take part in initial public offerings of stock in those corporations, buy and sell shares from each other, and watch stock prices change based on real trades. The simulation is managed through a set of apps developed by the Janitell librarian, Mr. Flesher.
