Four Janitell students are receiving national and statewide recognition for their outstanding National History Day work. Chloe Cooper, Valentina Cueto Caraveo, Kehara Johnson, and Adelyn Stanstead were recently spotlighted by National History Day in Colorado for the documentary they created last school year, “American Women: Suffrage Through Time and the Lasting Reform.” The documentary explored the long struggle for women’s voting rights and the lasting impact of the suffrage movement.
Their project had already distinguished itself in competition, earning second place in the Junior Group Documentary category at the 2026 Pikes Peak Regional Contest, according to the official National History Day Colorado results. The team went on to compete at the 2026 National History Day Colorado State Contest at CU Denver, where students from across Colorado presented their historical research.
